Henri Charrière, one of the world's most famous prisoners, would surely have had the time of his life at Papillon Restaurant in The Village, across from the Radisson Resort. Nicknamed Papillon because of the butterfly tattoo on his chest, the Frenchman was the first convict to escape from Devil's Island, something that nobody had ever done before. Charrière's thrilling, gripping autobiography has been the concept behind Papillon Restaurant.

Het lijkt precies dat we blij mogen zijn dat we daar MOGEN komen eten.Wat een slechte ontvangst.Wat een mentaliteit.Over het eten valt niets op te merken.Alles correct.

Papillon is the only restaurant I have visited twice during my week long vacation in Aruba. This time I have ordered escargot (type of snail) as a hot appetizer, lamb ribs as a main meal and creme brule for a desert. All meals was great (the lamb arrived somewhat lukewarm, but once I mentioned it, the meal was redone and came out perfect the second time with a glass of wine on the house to smooth out the wait period -- it is human to err & divine to forgive!!!). The best restaurant in Aruba from my experience.

Visited the place yesterday following the reviews on this site.

I had a great meal (beef carpaccio, seabass) and a smart warm service. Just on the house served antre to smooth the wait period -- their own bread with freshly crushed olive paste and fried shrimp in a special sauce the content of which I can't quite describe) was worth the visit, not to mention the meal itself. The location is somewhat noisy, but other than that a perfect place in Aruba.

My husband and I recently ate at Papillon(three times!) while on holiday in Aruba. The food, service and environment were absolutely fantastic! This will be our number one place to eat next time we are in Aruba!

We had dinner at Papillon for the second time and again it was over whelming! The food, winesuggestions and last but not least the service and environment where outstanding! Don't miss this restaurant while visiting Aruba.

First time here, and we loved it. This is our 5th time to Aruba, and this was one of the best meals we've had. Every aspect of our meal was great, especially the food and service (ask for Peter!). Will definitely be visiting again!

This is a must go! If you are thinking of trying this restaurant definitely try it. It is now on our list as a restaurant we will be back to! We are from NY and have many great restaurants there and this was up there with many of the top restaurants! Waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Service was great. Appetizer was very good- I had ceviche, husband had the escargot. We both had the bass- it was really incredible. One of the best fish dishes I have had. Dessert was good too.
Don't miss this one!

Duck was good, Filet mignon was ok and desserts were great. Service was a little slow and stuffy - our waitress forgot a lot of things.
