Pelican's Nest Seafood & Grill Bar
Aruba's favorite restaurant completely above the water offers many unique attributes; the spectacular view at any time of the day and especially during sunsets, the wide array of fresh seafood, a relaxing atmosphere, exclusive seating for dinner and the option while dining to feed the fish. Our Peruvian chef makes a famous and delicious fish ceviche.

Amazing sunsets!

Jan 29, 2024 - posted by
If you love the beach and beautiful sunsets, Pelican’s Nest provides one of the best venues in Aruba to watch the sun set while seated above the water with an unobstructed view! Every member of the staff is friendly and accommodating, from the hostess to the waitresses and waiters. My husband ordered the whole red snapper, pan fried, and said it was the best fish meal he’d ever eaten. My Mahi-Maui was also delicious! Treat yourself to a seafood
meal here. You’ll be glad you did!

Bad Service and Mai Tai tasted bad

Jan 31, 2023 - posted by
New tourist to Aruba , saw on tv Pelican Peir advertised. I pulled it up for reviews and menu and saw there was also a happy hour advertised .
so Jan 29 th at 4 pm we deceided to try Pelican Peir . We went in for happy hour drinks and appetizers.
The waiter had an attitude. He took our order after we asked about happy hour drinks . However we ordered mohetios and Pelican drink He brought it , no napkins , table was wet , from condensation of the drinks . We requested some napkins . He brought them with a huff and puff . Drinks was ok . Nothing to write home about ! . So the next round I ordered a Mai Tai .. it was bad no taste and came with a piece of orange peel !on top! I told waiter drink was bad and why the orange peel on top he said it was decorative. I did say to him ‘ you don’t service a drink or meal with a decoration that is not elibile . And ordered a wine instead .
We asked for the bill and left.
Please ! you did advertised happy hour !! Don’t if you are gonna give bad drinks and bad service !!
Very Disappointed !!!

Garbage food. The most overrated restaurant o

Jun 4, 2021 - posted by
Pelican Pier / Pelican Nest Restaurant is the most overrated restaurant on the island. Our Monforte Exclusive Dinner Cruise was cancelled by the restaurant because of some issues with a boat. They offered us a regular Sunset Cruise with a dinner at the Pelican Nest after the cruise. We were supposed to receive $88 refund by agreeing with this change. Unfortunately 2 weeks later we still did not receive any refund. I have been calling them every other day but they still didn’t refund any money. Today we finally had the dinner at the Pelican nest. Their food is garbage!! Their drinks are are pretty much water only. You cannot taste any alcohol. We are very disappointed and we strongly suggest everyone to avoid this place. Total waste of money and time.

Husband's Favorite Restaurant - Fried Shrimp

Sep 21, 2017 - posted by
We eat lunch here every single day of every Aruba vacation because my husband loves the fried shrimp with white rice. He craves it when he is back home. Plus the location at the end of the Pelican Pier offers an incredible view of the sea. I have taken some of my favorite pictures from this restaurant. It is quite affordable and the servers are also very friendly. FYI - the Pelican Pier is located in the high rise area / Palm Beach between the Holiday Inn and Playa Linda resort.

An excellent dining experience.

First I want to say our waiter Carlos was fantastic. He was very attentive and made suggestions about the different items on the menu. I had the grouper and I really enjoyed it. We sat right by the water so we had a view of the fish in the water. When I asked Carlos how deep was the water at that spot he told me about 8 feet. This was a beautiful spot and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had dinner at night and the lighting was hard for me to see the menu but I would recommend this restaurant to others and plan to eat there when I return. Send me the recipe for the grouper. It was great!!

A tremendous view for an Aruba sunset, but thats about it, horrible food, fried polenta that came out very cold with sweatmarks, so must have been sitting there fried for a long time, fried plantain was so greasy, way to ripe, fish to me was not fresh as claimed.

Hustled for tips

Aug 3, 2016 - posted by
Our second time eating there we were hustled for extra tips even after the 15% and we left $5.00 extra per person as a good gesture, the waiter and the other waiters were asking for more tip money. We confronted the manager and he was very much content in seen how the waiters acted. I will never eat there again.
Beautiful sunset and great entertainment, not much lighting after sunset, it is unfortunate how the waiters behaved.

Obnoxious guitar player ruined experience

Apr 29, 2016 - posted by
We chose this restaurant because of the location. The meal was average; service fair. Just as we're waiting to pay our bill, the obnoxious guitar player comes over and wants to play for us. He was roaming around from table to table the whole time. He doesn't speak or understand English and starts to play for us. At the end of his song, he wouldn't leave and started angrily pulling cash out to show us what he expected. We were only carrying credit cards and assumed he was paid by the restaurant (which he could very well be). Our bad; but he got downright aggressive. Dude, you sucked. We were trying to be polite as you interrupted our conversation. Would never go back here if this is how they treat patrons.

Beware Servers

May 5, 2015 - posted by
Great food. Great experience. Great view.

Then they close. They close terribly.

The bill came out. The waiter went on about how the 15% included gratuity was in fact not gratuity, and that we needed to tip him extra. And we needed to leave the tip amount prior to him taking our credit card.

The entire night was excellent, until that one final moment where the gypsie came out and we left feeling we hated the place.

We will not go back nor do we recommend anyone. If you go, be prepared for this trickery, and ask for a manager. Promptly.
