for what we got it's expensive for Italian considering we each had a drink, no appetizer, fettucini alfredo and veal parmesan. we each got dessert and husband had a gran marnier and expresso (which they took off the bill because the waitress knocked over an ice bucket behind us. didnt ask them to do that so that was nice of them) but even taking that off the bill was $100 with the tip

Dined at Sole Mare on Dec. 28th based on a friend's recommendation. We had not been here in a few years, as we were disappointed with our last visit.

Not much has changed. We had a reservation, but still had to wait almost 15 minutes to be seated.

Waiters seemed to hustle us through our meal, almost as if management wanted to move as many patrons through the restaurant as possible during the evening.

I ordered the penne with sauce and cheese. I expected this to be somewhat of a "baked ziti" type of entree. When it arrived, it was evident that the sauce and cheese had been added to a bowl of pasta and then thrown into the microwave, as the cheese was all in a gooey mass at the bottom of the bowl. This is unacceptable.

My wife ordered eggplant parmigiana and found it to be nothing special. It didn't take long for us to remember why we hadn't been back here in so long, and why we likely won't eat here on future visits to Aruba.

I have been to Aruba many times and have never been to this restaurant before. I have a passion for italian food and can honestly say.....this was the BEST i have ever had!! I ordered a pasta dish that was beyonds words...it was pasta that was prepared in the kitchen but came out to the table and was prepared in front of us in a parmigian cheese that was all cut out in the center and whiskey was ignited and the cheese melted then the pasta was added and then served to us!! I have never dreamed of dish so delicious! Before that we had complimentary garlic bread as much as we wanted and also "polenta" with marinara sauce....delicious. We ended our dinner with dessert....a "profiterol" better than i could have had in the North End of Boston!! Needless to say....i will go back! Oh, i forgot to mention...service...perfection!

Our first time here and we were not disappointed with the food or atmosphere. Salads were average but our pastas were both wonderful with very fresh tomatoes and wonderful flavor. Service was also very good. Only thing we didn't care for was the somewhat loud atmosphere in the room. It was so loud that we could barely carry on a conversation with each other. I think they should put the larger groups in one room and the tables for two in a different room for a more intimate atmosphere.

Sole Mare is our favorite restaurant of all. We visit Arub four times a year and always love the food at Sole Mare. The food is hot and fresh and the service is wonderful. All of our friends say Sole Mare is the number one favorite in Aruba.

Ate here back when they first opened..Food was excellent.. Will not eat here again.. Overpriced (I don't mind paying, but $8 for 11 pcs of lettuce in a Ceasar salad is a bit much).Small portions for the money..This was a great restaurant when they opened.. Poor to fair at best..Go to the other Italian Restaurant across from the Radisson..You'll be much better of and happier!

"Typical" Caribbean decor could give you indegestion but the food sure won't! Among the best red sauce I have ever had, spicy and fresh-tasting. The eggplant appetizer was good enough that I wished I could have had it for dinner. Calimari appetizer was enjoyed by all. Fra Diavolo was superb and all in our party loved everything about this place. Staff is very friendly and they all smile a lot. We love this place!

we were a party of 6. Service was great and the food was outstanding. Their special spagetti with cheese and whiskey was outstanding. Only regret is that sole mare is not in the United States. Best meal on the island

Sole Mare & Azzuro are our favorites. Family owned and the staff is great. We had my daughter's birthday there in October and was a great success.

We first went to Sole Mare and thought it was great and planned the party for there but then the hostess suggested Azzuro and was perfect. The flavor was great the portions could be a little bigger.

All in all one great place.
