The waitstaff was very attentive, but not overly so. Our primary server, Marjolein, was an effective combination of professional, attentive, and friendly. An overall enjoyable experience.

I VISITED THIS RESTAURANT AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED. SERVICE WAS SO SO AND THE LINE TO THE ROCK WHERE THE PICTURES ARE TAKEN WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR TABLE.NOT FUN FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO SPEND THIER LAST NIGHT IN ARUBA. MY ARUBA ARIBA WAS TERRIBLE. I THINK 20% ALCOHOL AND 80% WATER. SORRY BUT NEVER AGAIN!!

Overrated.

Sure the food was good and the portions were large, but at the price and distance you have to travel to get there (you either have to take a cab at $80 round trip or rent a car for the day at $60) it is wholly not worth the trip. There are plenty of other surf and turf places in town that are right on the water that are just as good for less expense. PLUS, this place takes forever to bring you food. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour dining experience which wouldn't necessarily be a problem on vacation except their restaurant is in the worst possible section of Aruba. Not a place you want to be leaving post-10pm when you are new to the island.

I recommend NO.

We dined here on Easter Sunday. We made a reservation and were seated right away. The food was excellent, everything from the lobster salad, alaskan salmon and red snapper for dinner to the apple tart with ice-cream for dessert was delicious! They even made a wonderful cosmopolitan cocktail! My only disappointment was the $80 round trip cab fare from our hotel. My fault for not doing my research on how far the restaurant was from our hotel. I would definitely dine here again.

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner at the Flying Fishbone on March 7, 2010. Located in Savaneta it was easy to locate as we had dined there on a previous visit to the island. We arrived at 6 pm so we could enjoy the sunset. Our table was a few feet from the water, the couple at the table in front us dined with their feet in the water.
Seated immediately, we enjoyed the romantic setting as the sun began to set. A neighbor sat on his dock and softly stummed his guitar. The Jet Skis were entertaining but probably not by all guests. Although the setting is beautiful, the tables are very close together and on a downhill slant.
Appetizer shared was "fresh chilled Dutch oysters" which were huge but tasty.
Our entrees were excellent, a "Grouper Catch of the Day" and "Seafood with homemade fettuccini" which contained grouper, shrimp and scallops in sundried tomato sauce. Dessert was a delicious creme brulee.
Service was on the slow side but understandable as every table was occupied and staff were assisting in taking photos of the guests. The staff was very polite, knowledgable and accommodating.
We enjoyed our experience at this restaurant but have to rate the "Old Man & The Sea" a few doors down as a better experience.

My husband and I love good food and this restaurant was at the top. We had 5:30 reservations and had table 21 so we actually sat with our feet in the water. What an experience!!!

It has been many years since we last ate at FLYING FISHBONE and we approached the matter with a bit of concern - we have seen many good restaurants decline with time. We originally ate at FLYING FISHBONE in its very earl days of existence and were quite satisfied at that time. We were a bit considerd by the mixed reviews for FLYING FISHBONE'S sister restaurant, SCREAMING EAGLE, but we ere determined to go. We are happy to report that FLYING FISHBONE has not declined in the least in its dining experience - the food, service, and environment are superb. And, for those who do not like o dangle their feet in the shifting sands or the water, they actually now have a deck which provides a more than adequate experience. Surprisingly, going to SCREAMING EAGLE the next night and having talked with some of the customers at FLYING FISHBONE (who had previously eaten at SCREAMING EAGLE), the consensus seems to be that SCREAMING EAGLE is the better of the two establishments - but both are very good. Don't miss one or the other - if not both.

The Flying Fishbone was a great dining experience. The view was gorgeous, and we watched the sunset as we ate. The tables are in the sand right at the edge of the water. The food was excellent, the service excellent & the staff very friendly. The ambience was super. Great job to whoever runs this restaurant!
