Wonderful dining experience with amazing food

I recently had the pleasure of having dinner at Flying Fishbone, one of Aruba's top 10 fine dining restaurants, and had a really great experience that I wanted to share. The food was outstanding! I had the shrimp and bleu cheese dish for my entree and it was soooo delicious. My boyfriend had a pasta dish with all kinds of different seafood, (fish, scallops, shrimp etc) in it, which was equally delicious. They also have a great cocktail/wine list. The martinis were very yummy. I would recommend the French Martini. My boyfriend and I made a 5:30 reservation, which I definitely recommend, because we were there in plenty of time for a gorgeous sunset. The atmosphere of this restaurant is just breath taking. We hung over flip flops on these hooks that they have available and ate dinner at table right on the water. I would also recommend asking for a table right along the water so you can enjoy the amazing food while your toes are dipped in the beautiful caribbean. Flying Fishbone is definitely rated an easy 10! The service was great as well, which I found to be true at any of the fine dining in Aruba. (Not always consistently good with the more causal places). It is a great date night kind of place and is very romantic. They even play romantic music, such as Frank Sinatra, just to make the experience that much more enjoyable. I definitely want to come back here next time I'm in Aruba and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking or great restaurants in Aruba.

Forget it!

This restaurant is living on past glory. We have made a the pilgrimage to Savaneta on all our past visits to dine at this restaurant, and will not in the future. We waited an hour for appetizers (three soup and one salad) and then had another long interval waiting for entrees which were not that great. It almost seemed the service was designed to push the seriously over-priced wine list. It is not worth it to sit in the sand, particularly when there are other more attractive places to do that.

Always a Valentine's 10+!

Feb 17, 2014 - posted by
We've come to The Flying Fishbone for a number of Valentine's night dinners and have NEVER been disappointed. It is the quintessential romantic dinnerplace. Last year we missed it at the prompting of other friends who wished to go elsewhere. Thank Goodness we came back here on our own! We actually time our few days of car rental to include our Valentine's night to your restaurant. We felt from the moment we sank our toes into the sands under our table our server Weng, and others who made us feel at home. The sunset was brilliant as usual, the cocktails were too. First your calamari... we've had calamari all over the world; only here and another place (in Half Moon Bay, California) are the BEST. My husband drooled (not really), but was humming to the flavor of your skirt steak; I did the same with your grouper & giant prawns. Bravo! We can't wait to come back.

This meal was outstanding. The cab ride is totally worth it. The restaurant has great ambience-we sat on the upper deck overlooking all...fabulous wine selection. I'm not much on calamari, but this was amazing and both entrees (I had grouper in a coconut curry sauce, my mom had shrimp in a creamy bleu cheese casserole) were to die for! I can't wait to have leftovers for lunch! Service was delightful and we will be back.

Number One in Aruba

Jan 2, 2014 - posted by
We spent an amazing10 days of our Christmas vacation in Aruba and went out every day to different restaurants. There were plenty of really great ones on the Island!
We had celebrated two of our family birthdays there as well. So...by the last day of our vacation our entire family ( and we are very picky :)), my son lives in Paris and the rest of the family divides our time between London and New York) can swear, that The Flying Fishbone restaurant is the Number One in Aruba...:)) My Birthday dinner was one of the most beautiful ones that I have ever had, even in comparison to the previous birthday parties in Aspen, St.Barth's etc...Every aspect of the restaurant deserves Five Stars....Beautiful decor, both at the entrance and at the beach, where the tables are...The service is up to any sophisticated standards : the hostess, a very elegant woman, takes you to your table and offers a special rack to hang the shoes while you are sitting barefoot on the sand...The waiters, Edward on my birthday and Mike on our second visit, are smart, funny and very helpful... The food is beyond any expectations!!! Try Peruvian ceviche or shrimp tempura as a starter and duck breast for the main course...The wine list according to my husband is also impressive....

An evening of pure delight

My wife and I had been to Aruba several times as stops on a cruises. We loved the island and most of all its friendly people. We decided to take a 9 day vacation on the island. A friend who had property on the island recommended we try the Flying Fish Bone and we are ever so glad we tried it. The setting was lovely. Although we did not get there early enough to get a table at the waters edge our table was great. Our server was just fantastic. The food was perfect. We could not have had a more enjoyable evening. We are going back to Aruba in the Summer of 2014 and The Flying Fish Bone is most definitely on our list of places to go. Our most sincere thanks to the staff there for making our visit truly wonderful and so very memorable.

Feet in the Water

Oct 6, 2013 - posted by
Flying Fishbone was suggested to us by the Concierge @ the Renaissance and what a wonderful surprise. Arrive early to ensure that you have one of the tables In-the-Water... you remove your shoes and put your feet in the water while you dine... what an interesting and relaxing experience.. that said, the drinks, the food, and the service are outstanding. Our server Edward, as well as the rest of the staff, took excellent care of us and with the sunset - What a terrific dining experience!
