Fabulous Buffet Lunch

Apr 18, 2017 - posted by
Just came to website to confirm that The Kitchen was still open. We will be back next week. Came here three times on our last trip. Lunch buffet is fabulous. Choices range from salads to ceviche, to varied meats and fishes, to a few local selections. So much to choose from. And you pay by the weight. So the price is up to what and how much you select. Local business folks fill the place at lunch so time your visit accordingly. We go early, or closer to very late lunch. Looking forward to next week's lunch.

Great Buffet Find

Terrific lunch buffet. Assorted salads, grilled items, veggies, Aruban dishes. Take what you want and pay by the pound. Great idea. We went several times on last trip and can't wait to go again this month. IGNORE reviews from prior to 2014. It is totally different. Keep the hours in mind. Open 11-4only.

I'm done here

Feb 3, 2014 - posted by
I find this place ok when you can hit it at the right time but the staff here is extremly odd. I've been there at several different time slots during their hours of operation and most times there are very few, if any other diners but no matter what I ask for, it seems like the first time they've ever hyeard such a request. Today it was a take-away menu. I asked for one [as they've had them in the past] so we could order later on. The young guy behind the counter looked at me the way our dog does when I make a funny noise; head tilted;"a menu in a restaurant??" what an odd request!! He went out back to try and have the complicated question sorted out and cleared up, only to come back and say "no sir, no menus", I'm traveling with 4 other people. Our order would have been roughly $150, USD had they simply had a menu. Here's a tip for the kitchen, you've been open for years now. Get out of the unorganized "just opening" mode and commit to being a full service restaurant with help that realize they're in the hospitality business. The place could be good but I'll pass on it going forward.

The Kitchen- What a pleasant surprize. First time here. Wife had Salmom with shrimp in spicy sauce, she said was fantastic. I had sliced steak, good but not a great choice. Surprized to find out that this is another of Stefans places. He is becoming the restaurant barren. Good for him he works hard and has a very nice family.Annual.

Extensive menu

Aug 19, 2012 - posted by
I have never seen such an extensive menu at a restaurant! This place has it all, and not your average food offerings. The only problem is that the service needs work. Five of us went there for dinner and, since they only have tables for two or four, we were seated at the end of a huge banquet table. It looked like we were having a party and were waiting for the rest of our guests to arrive. Our servers were very sweet and friendly, but they took the orders incorrectly so one person did not get the soup and salad he ordered, and they did not fill our water glasses at first, then spilled water when they did. They need experienced servers to teach them the ropes. When the food did arrive, it was excellent. We all ordered different items from the menu and all the plates were spotlessly clean at the end. The food was presented simply but the portions were large and the food was hot and delectable. I honestly don't know how they would handle a big crowd on a busy night because, even by Aruba standards, service was very slow, but the prices were very reasonable and we certainly were not rushed. For the food alone, I would go back, but perhaps order my food to-go.

The Creole Grouper was absolutely fantastic. Mahi mahi was equally delicious. Stir fried veggies were also incredible. It must be the wood fired grille because this was the best dinner we've had in Aruba in our 10 years of coming here, maybe one of the best fish dinners I've had anywhere. I wish I would have discovered this place sooner. We will be coming back at least a couple more times before heading back to Michigan. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

More then just take out. Very good food. Lots of it & a reasonable price. When I was there the manager Tamara was friendly & welcoming. I liked it so much I told her I would recomend the restaurant to my friends. I have been to aruba at least 30 times over a 17 year period & know a good deal when I see one.
Tell the waiter BIG AL recomended you & get a free dessert.

A very good restaurant (although I do miss Jamaica-Me-Crazy, the restaurant that used to be at this location).
Food was excellent, but the service was a bit lacking. I've been three times and have not been disappointed.

After all the great stories I've heard about the kitchen I took my wife out for dinner.

The staff is very friendly especially the manager. I've seen a lot of restaurants in the Caribbean and the entourage is very warm and special.

The food is great and really to tryout ass long you are open for the Caribbean cuisine.

The prices are not to high and payable compared to other restaurants on Aruba.

I really enjoyed our dinner and thanks the staff for their great service.

I don't recommend this place at all. I ordered a soup, it was bland. I've never had to use the pepper shakers so much. My husband ordered a salad and it wasn't even tossed. Bad experience. I would have gone somewhere else if I had known better.
