As all the other reviews state this is a very reasonable restaurant with very reasonable prices. The service was wonderful. We had chosen a table under lights and became overrun by flies within minutes of getting our appetizers. We spoke to our waiter who moved us immediately. We two apetizers, drinks and two entres and the bill came to $63.00 there was nothing we could moan about it was a very pleasant experience and we would go again.

The Tulip Restaurant is set in the garden of a 16 room hotel in Eagle Beach. The wait staff is quite friendly (a good number are student interns from Holland). Diners are not rushed - they are allowed to enjoy their meals and beautiful evenings across from the beach. The dinner menu is not extensive. The food is tasty and nicely presented. (If you like potatoes ask for the many ways they prepare them). This is not a four star restaurant charging four star prices. If you want a pleasant meal at a reasonable price, you might want to try it.

Average food, below average service. Very slow service considering it wasn't very busy. Food order was mixed up. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. So many other good restaurants to eat at.

After a day of travelling Tulip was suggested since it was walking distance. We sat inside and were pleased to see free internet access. Quickly we emailed home and sat and had a refreshing drink. The student/waiters were very friendly, we were there at 5pm and the kitchen was closed for a half hour, it was a nice place to unwind. The shrimp appetizer was great, my husband had salmon and I had tuna. The fresh South American Veggies were excellent. The sangria was also awesome.
Price was a litte on the high side but the ambiance, service and food made up for it. We wanted to go back but never had time, we'll be back next year for sure!

I ate here more times than I wanted too, but my boyfriend loved the fact of the prices. Ok so Tulip is a cute restaurant with lots of lights and outdoor seating, but the food is just not consistent and lacked flavor and creativity. The first time we went it wasn't that bad. Again this place is very reasonable, so if thats what your looking for then you can't complain. The second and third time the food was just not good. I mean what I think of strogenoff and what I was served were too different things. The Sangria was ok alittle bit too juicy for my taste and they serve it in glasses with paper fruit straws(a bit tacky) but like I mentioned before the price you can't beat and the food is ok, stick to steak, chicken dishes and the shrimp cocktail (its worth the price).

We ate at Tulips a few weeks ago because we were staying at the Lacabana and were able to walk there one evening after we dropped the rental car off. The waitresses were very friendly and we found out that they were working there because of a work-study program at a school in Holland.
I ordered the salmon and it was a very poor mistake. I should have known that it was not going to be fresh; after all, they have to import all of the fish that they don't catch. The grouper would have been a better choice.
As soon as the salmon came to my table I could smell the spoilage. I took a few bites and could also taste the spoilage. I only ate a few bites and was afraid that I would get sick.
The waitress asked me if my meal was ok and I told her about the smell and taste. She took it back to the kitchen and came back and told me that 3 chiefs had tasted it and they didn't taste anything wrong with it. I was asked if I needed anything else and I replied that I didn't. They didn't offer to deduct the meal from my bill and at that point the waitresses became very friendly. If I were going to cook that fish in my own house, I wouldn't have bothered after smelling it. It would have been in the trashcan. I don't understand how a restaurant can serve fish that obviously has a bad smell and not fresh. I learned a lesson and will now order fish that has been caught locally and guaranteed fresh.
