Barefoot Restaurant
"Elegant dining in flipflops"

Located at the beach near the airport at the roundabout. Owner Gerco (chef) and Luc (Maitre d') have created a unique dining experience where you can enjoy the best Aruba has to offer: a great view of the ocean and sunset, experienced and friendly staff and high quality food.
Ideal for special occasions or just a wonderful night out!

Saved this for our last night on the island. What a great place. We had the tuna two ways and the beef carpaccio for appetizers...WOW!
I had the grouper wrapped with parma ham and my wife had the grouper shrimp combo. Both were perfect.
The wait staff was super helpful and friendly and what a location to see a sunset and dine barefoot.
Thanks for a great time!

We were in Aruba during the second week of March, 2011, based on the recommendations from this site we went to this restaurant,,, thank you all for recommending this restaurant, simply one of the best on the island, great food, fantastic environment, friendly servers. Where else can you eat on beach by the water, and dance under the stars on the beach,,, talk about gaining some point from the wife by dancing under the starts on the beach,, highly recommend the place and specially the dancing part.

HALLELUJAH, PRAISE WHATEVER LORD YOU BELIEVE IN - FINALLY SOMEONE HAS PUT A CREDIBLE RESTAURANT INTO THE OLD MARANDI LOCATION DOWN BY WHAT IS NOW CALLED NIKKI BEACH. When Marandi's left their in-town palapa location across the road from The Talk Of The Town, a period of doubt arose as to what, if anything, would go into that site. BAREFOOT is the answer to those wonderments and it is a very credible successor to the tradition that Marandi's created there. The fact of the matter is that BAREFOOT is even better than Marandi's ever was or currently is. The setting has been fixed up in many ways - the palapa has been nicley spruced up and dining on the beach is also available and the beach itself has been cleaned up and turned into a destination in its own right as well. The view remains incredible and the food and service are impeccable. This place is a keeper.
We expect to continue to hear good things about this reatuarant and also look forward to the end result of some development that is going on in its immediate neighborhood (which does not distract from the restuarant and may enhance the overall experience in the future - we are not sure what is being done and got input on the matter that simply was contradictory and not reliable). Whatever is being done to the neighborhood should not impact on the quality of this restuarant- it is something that has been overdue for some time and is a welcome addition to the Aruba dining scene.

Great Dinner!

We were a large group for dinner this week and as usual, Luc and his staff did a great job. I had the Lamb/Lamb combo and it was outstanding as was the Brownie desert.
The setting is very nice.I would highly reccomend Barefoot.

One of our favorite restaurants - didn't have reservations but once again, Claudia came thru! She truly goes over and above the call of duty to accommodate you - sevice was way off that night - but we found that to be true in most Aruba restaurants last week - highly recommend!

I have mixed reviews about Barefoot. Tried it after reading all the great reviews and of our party of 8, most were very happy with the food. Tomato soup, goat cheese salad, and lobster gratin were all good appetizers but the gratin is extremely creamy, almost overpowering the lobster.
Tuna Pepper steak was great as was some of the other loacl fish. I had the Grouper with Parma Ham and didnt like it at all. As decribed, the fish is wrapped in the ham. But it doesnt say that it is then cut into small medalions, almost the size of a half dollar, and the cooked. The fish was extremely dry and overcooked.
The other main problem was that I told the server that I was allergic to nuts, and he said he took note of it. I then ordered the goat cheese salad, that had no mention of nuts. The server didnt say a thing to me. When brought out, the salad was covered in nuts....just cant understand it. The server either just didnt pay attention, or had no knowledge of the menu. But if he told the chef as he said he would, this salad should have never been brought to me.
So overall, most of our group like their food and said they would go back.....I'm still up in the air.

What a beautiful setting. We dined at
Barefoot 4 times during our visit including Valentines Day. Service &
food were terrific. My favorite special appitizer was Zucchini Parmesan. Hope they put that on the
regurar menu. During each visit the
entres were delicious. The special
desert was very good as well. We look forward to many more dinners at Barefoot,

Table setting on the beach is nice. Service is confusing as different waiters stop at your table to ask the same questions (3 in a row for a drink order). We both ordered the Lobster Gratin as appetizer and both thought it was awful. The sauce was too sharp and so overwhelming that you could not taste anything from the lobster, total waste. Had Duck and Lamb as main dishes. They were better but we still had the sharp taste of the appetizer in our mouths, which pretty much ruined our dinner.
